How is this different from Hudl?
Hudl owns video. CoachDek owns the whiteboard. Your coaching staff needs both — Hudl to review film, and CoachDek to plan practice, track installs, and develop players. We're designed to sit next to Hudl in your coaching stack, not replace it. You can even import your playbook directly from a Hudl export.
Do I need to pay to try it?
No. The Free tier is genuinely free — no credit card, no time limit. One coordinator gets full access to practice planning, the drill library, and the player-facing published view. Upgrade to Pro when you're ready to bring in your full staff.
What happens if I cancel?
You drop to the Free tier — your data stays intact, your drill library and practice history are preserved, and your skill trees are saved. Nothing gets deleted. You just lose access to Pro and Platform features until you resubscribe.
Is there a contract or annual commitment?
Monthly plans — cancel any time. Annual plans save 20% and are billed once per year. No multi-year commitments, no cancellation fees. Most programs sign up before spring ball and stay through the season.
What level of football is CoachDek built for?
CoachDek's default content — skill trees, drill libraries, and practice templates — is built at the varsity level and is designed to be adapted down to JV, freshman, and youth.
Does the 8-coach limit on Pro count players?
No. The coach seat limit counts only coaching staff — HC, coordinator, and position coaches. Players are always unlimited on Pro and Platform. A typical 8-person coaching staff fits comfortably on Pro.
What scheme content ships at launch?
At launch, CoachDek ships with complete skill trees for 4-2-5 defense and spread 11-personnel offense at varsity level, plus a default drill library for both. All templates are reviewed by real coaching staff before publishing.
Can I take my data if I leave?
Always. Your practice plans, drill library, playbook, install records, and player ratings are yours — export to CSV or PDF at any time, from any tier, with no friction. We will never hold your work hostage.
Can I import my existing playbook?
Yes. Upload your Hudl playbook export, a PDF, or images of your play cards. CoachDek's AI extracts your formations, routes, and blocking assignments into structured play data — rendered in our diagramming engine. Most coaches have their full playbook in CoachDek within 10 minutes.
Do my players really use it?
The players who care will. Your QB, your starters, and the kids who want to get better — they'll check their assignments, review this week's install concepts, and see their skill ratings from their position coach.
